The purpose of this project was to explore research regarding the barriers to higher education faced by refugee students in the United States. After establishing historical  context of refugee policies, a review of the literature was conducted using a social justice framework. A qualitative content analysis revealed key factors that contribute to systematic injustices for refugee students in higher education. Suggestions for future research and collaboration are given.
