Cultivating collaboration when designing a kindergarten playground with the children
Outdoor play promotes children’s fitness and health, reduces stress, develops motor skills, relaxes the mind and enhances friendship and good relationships among students. the purpose of this study is to prove that when stakeholders, teachers and students collaborate in creating such an important place forĀ the latter then the result is far more in favor of the students who are involved in something that is useful and purposeful for them.

Dear Sevastiani,
I find your research very interesting because it gives children the possibility to express themselves and tell us how they prefer their school. I am curious to tell me how the most of them drew the school that would prefer to have…Once that I have asked this question to children of preschool age, they had told me that they wanted a big, colorful school with many trees and toys outside!…

Dear Chrysoula
Thank you for your comments
It is true that when children drew their ideal schoolyard they put a lot of trees and playground equipment with lots of colors!! Unfortunately up til now their schoolyard is not appropriate for preschool children and that is why all children who participated in the project were very excited to the option of having a new playground!!
